Blake Shelton

          Blake Shelton started to sing at such an early age, he began at 12 years old. Blake won an award in his home state when he was just 16 years old. At the age of 17, Blake Shelton moved to Nashville, Tennessee to pursuit his singing career. Blake was born on June 18th, 1976. In 1998 he signed with Giant records and then released "I Wanna Talk About Me" in 2001, but then later on Toby Keith recorded it. Giant Records dissolved and then Blake got picked up by Warner Bros. Records. The song "Austin" went right to top reaching number 1. Blake has won many awards. In 2010 he won 2 vocal event, collaborative video, and Male Vocalist of the year. In 2011 he won  Male Video, Best Web Video, Male Vocalist, and Favorite Country Male Artist of the year. 
         Some things about Blake Sheltons personal life his he got married to Kaynette Gern. They were married for about 3 years (2003-2006). Later in 2006 Blake started to date Miranda Lambert. They were together for four years and on May 9th 2010, Blake proposed to Miranda, They a got married a year later on May 14th, 2011 in Texas. They are still together now.

      There is not really anything that big going on in country music today, I mean there are a lot songs going right to the top. Right now Red Solo Cup by Toby Keith is the number 1 song and that didn't take long at all. #2 song is I Don't Want This Night To End by Luke Bryan, #3 song is God Gave Me You by Blake Shelton, #4 is Ours by Taylor Swift, #5 is Just a Kiss by Lady Antebellum, #6 is All Your Life by The Band Perry, #7 is The Trouble With Girls by Scotty McCreery, #8 is If I Die Young by the Band Perry, #9 is Keep Me In Mind by Zac Brown Band, and #10 is Easy by Rascal Flatts and Natasha Bedingfield.

Important person

      Kenny Chesney took the stage in NY/NJ and made a huge impact on the whole area. The concert was held at New Meadowlands. This concert topped the last time he sang there by having the top sales there in New Meadowlands. Kenny said “It has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and will be an unforgettable evening for everyone involved.” and he said ‘"You know, I want to be able to say I played the New York-New Jersey area and I did it in a football stadium." People have started calling Chesney "The biggest ticket seller in country music." This concert was part of the goin' coastal tour. They say this was the worlds biggest tour. 

      Chesney got his first award was in 1997 he got ACM New male vocalist of the year. In 2002 he won 2 awards, in 2003 he won 2 awards, in 2004 he won 5 awards, in 2005 he won 3 awards, in 2006 he won 5 awards, in 2007 he won 5 awards, in 2008 he won 4 awards, and he didn't get another one till 2011. As you can see his best years would have been 2004, 2006, or 2007. 

      Kenny Chesney has been a really good role model for all of his fans. he shows how you can do anything you want to if you put your mind to it. His songs are really telling a story like Boys of fall and theses football teams can really relate to this song. There on many more that there young kids can connect to. 

Country Music

 Country music first started in the southern United States. We wouldn't have country music if it wasn't for western cowboy and folk music. In the 1940 country music really started becoming popular, but it wasn't called country music, it was called hillbilly music. Harlan Howard stated "Country music is three chords and the truth." When country first started they used a lot of different instruments, they used a fiddle, harmonicas, guitars, violins, and banjos. But now they come away from all those. 

Music

My taste in music is always changing. There are so many different kinds of music out there. My favorite kind of music would have to be country, but I also like hip hop/R&B. Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton are my two favorites. When I was younger I hated country, my dad would always listen to it and I'd get mad. Now I have my brother who always gets mad at me for listening to it all the time. I love country music and I always will no matter what people say about it. Some say it's for rednecks but I don't care. Also country music has more to it then other songs. It really tells stories and is easy to relate to.
